In our Introduction
to the Spanish Vowels Natural Meditation, we imply that utilizing
a natural vocal harmony facilitates the natural development of
meditation by utilizing the natural, feminine vibration of the
Spanish vowels. However, nothing replaces practical experience!
Review: The pronounciation of the Spanish Vowels:
A - ah as in awe-inspiring
E - eh as in able-minded
I - ee as in easy does it
O - oh as in open-hearted
U - oo as in truly honest
Preparation for Meditation
Any tool utilized for spiritual growth or realization
depends upon two important concepts: The omniscient Now, and
the amount of actual conscious will poweravailable
to focus in this now.
As an example, any truly advanced practicationer
in the mental arts would have very little difficulty making
the decision to sit on a grassy knoll, in deep contemplation,
for several days, doing nothing else of consequence, in perfect
contentment. Such individuals have far more consciousness
available in the present time under their direction, as a direct
result of self-discipline, than the average person.
The importance of the now for the individual
who is learning is meditate may seem confusing or even inconsequential.
However, it is excellent to point out that a great many individuals
live partly in the past ( via experiential reality primarily
subconscious and memory-based ), and partly in the future (
via conscious decisions on future actions based on past experience
) ; this
leaves
very little conscious will present
in the
now.
Therefore, having secured a peaceful and quiet
environment to practice, the first step in preperation for
the meditation is to simply direct
one's
conscious
attention
into the present time. This is an extremely important step
for the novice, and may be accomplished as follows:
Look around the present environment, whether
it is a room or a spot in nature. Notice the textures,
colors, shape, and form of the surrounding objects.
Do not think about the objects, just observe
their physical characteristics. If possible, do this with objects
both six
feet and closer, and objects further than six feet. Consciously
remind the body to relax, and take a few deep breaths. Send
a conscious reminder to the body, in the form of intention,
to "be here now". With the right middle finger, gentle
tap the thorax ( at the notch at the center of the collar bone
) three times; repeat the tapping in series of "threes" for
ten to 20 seconds.
This process need only be practiced until one
feels an accute sense of the present, certainly no longer than
two minutes and usually closer to 40 seconds.
Meditating
Once the simple preperation has been completed,
the performance of this vibrational meditation is extremely
easy.
1. Take a comfortable deep breath, breathing
first from the diaphram.
2. Intone the first spanish vowel: A ( ah ) while
exhaling.
3. Take another comfortable deep breath.
4. Intone the second Spanish Vowel: e: ( eh )
while exhaling.
Repeat this process for all vowels: a, e, i,
o, and u.
Once a single iteration of all vowels has been
performed, repeat at least three times.
